The whole smartphone topic feels incredibly confusing as a parent. I know the downsides of excessive screen time, but I also need to stay in touch and want my 14-year-old to access useful apps. Chatsie parental controls allow you to set a password for specific areas of the software. This includes:
If you buy a phone with a SIM card, then any internet or data this includes a parental filter. If connected to wifi, these will need to be set up to have a parental filter.
We are working on a system that also adds a filter to internet browsing through any wifi connection as well.
Google Family Link is an Android service that further enables parental controls. The downside is that is requires you and your child to have google accounts.
We recommend that for the best experience of Chatsie parental controls to also use Google Family Link. The two pieces of software together enable other features like: tracking, further internet filters, remote disabling of the phone, total screentime limits and impossible to disable the phone.
